Ian Lomax MSc BSc MIMechE MIoD FRSA CENG
 
Ian Lomax is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. He spent the early years of his career i electro-mechanical design at ALSTOM before joined ATB Morley as Technical Director in 2002. He joined the MBO which ultimately sold the business to ATB in 2004. He oversaw the acquistion of ATB Laurence Scott in 2007 and became MD at ATB Morley at the end of that year.
 
He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Enginering Business Management gained at Warwick University.
 
He describes the journey to growth in ATB Morley as absolutely fantastic. The business has grown from £7m with 100 people in 2002 to £18.4m with over 200 by 2009. He says "The challenges are always new and varied growing as a small business, and there are still plenty of challenges out there as we continue to adjust our market position. The key has been careful strategic planning, combining an adventurous and ambitious goals with realistic achievable targets, all supported by a strong and enthusiastic team throughout the business."
 
In that period the company has entered new markets, introduced new systems, purchased and upgraded equipment, added and trained personnel and acquired its only UK rival, David McClure.
 
The hard work over the last few years was rewarded with a Queen's Award in 2009, which lead to meeting Her Royal Highness at Buckingham Palace, things don't get much better than that.

“ATB Morley is a successful engineering business and like many such businesses has struggled to find time to maintain its website, update brochures and create publicity. Global have assisted with redevelopment of the website, rewrote  product brochures (which were several years out of date).  The increase in our local profile has lead to ATB Morley appearing in a number of publications including the Financial Times and culminated in two Royal Visits.
